**1. Educational Objectives**
In line with the national strategy of deeply integrating big data, artificial intelligence, and the real economy, this major aims to cultivate professionals with strong ethical and humanistic qualities. Students will master the fundamental theories of information management and big data analysis, possess systematic professional knowledge and skills, be familiar with international business culture, and have proficient translation abilities. Graduates will be capable of conducting scientific research, engineering and technical development, and business management operations in fields such as information management, information systems design and operation, and big data analysis.
**2. Training Requirements**
Students in this major must complete a total of 151+6 credits as specified in the curriculum plan. This includes 41 credits for general education courses, 31 credits for major foundational courses, 68 credits for professional courses, 8 credits for elective courses, 3 credits for innovation, entrepreneurship courses, and practice, and 6 credits for extracurricular activities. Graduates who meet the degree requirements will be conferred a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Bachelor of Science degree from the foreign institution).
Students are required to have a solid foundation in mathematics, computer science, and information technology. They should master methods and technologies for information system analysis, planning, design, implementation, and management, as well as basic methods and technologies for big data analysis. They should also possess practical research capabilities in commercial big data analysis, development, and application.
Graduates of this major should possess the following knowledge and abilities:
- Good physical and mental health, strong professional ethics, patriotism, humanities literacy, and social responsibility.
- Strong English listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation, and cross-cultural communication skills, proficient in using English for work in the field of information management.
- Mathematical and other related natural science knowledge necessary for research, method application, and technical services in information management.
- Basic theories and methods of information management and analysis, information systems design and development, as well as related professional knowledge of information resource acquisition, transmission, processing, analysis, application, and management.
- Preliminary ability to discover new methods of big data processing and solve practical problems.
- Understanding of the theoretical frontier, application prospects, and development trends of information management and information systems, with the ability to communicate, compete, and cooperate in international and cross-cultural environments.
- Certain organizational management ability, strong expression and interpersonal communication skills, as well as good teamwork spirit.
