With the advent of the era of large models, industries have raised higher requirements for the capabilities of AI talents, and the training of AI talents also faces many challenges. On December 7th, Baidu's 'AI Native Application Technology Enters Campus' initiative came to Guizhou University to share the latest developments and practical applications of AI native applications.
At the meeting, the director of the Department of Communication Engineering pointed out that in the current era of rapid development of large models, society has higher requirements for technical talents. He hoped that students could have access to the most cutting-edge technology companies and leading technologies, broaden their horizons, improve their hands-on abilities, and grow into AI technical talents needed by society. At the same time, he also thanked Baidu for its support in talent training at the college, hoping to achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between industry, academia, and research through collaboration with Baidu, and jointly promote the development and innovation of artificial intelligence and big data.
Following that, Zhou Fangdi, Senior Manager of Baidu's University Cooperation Department, gave a presentation titled Baidu, Generating the Future, introducing the latest developments and practical application capabilities of the Wenxin large model and AI native application technology. He showcased the four core AI capabilities of understanding, generating, logic, and memory. At the same time, he demonstrated the application effects of large models in code generation and the workflow based on plugins in specific business requirements. It is reported that recently, Baidu's founder, Chairman, and CEO Robin Li stated that the Wenxin large model 4.0 has achieved a comprehensive upgrade of the basic model, and its comprehensive capabilities are no less than GPT-4. Currently, Baidu has trained 4.2 million AI talents for society and will continue to cooperate closely with various sectors of industry, academia, and research, deepen the integration of industry and education, and train another 5 million large model talents for society.
After the presentation, the attending students enthusiastically asked questions, sparking lively discussions and exchanges on topics such as AI native applications, Baidu's Wenxin large model, data security and privacy, and Baidu's related products. The successful hosting of this lecture not only deepened students' understanding of cutting-edge technologies in the field of artificial intelligence but also provided them with frontier information related to internships, job hunting, and industrial practices.
In the future, the School of Big Data and Information Engineering will continue to launch related lecture series to help students grasp the latest industry trends, enhance their professional competence, and gradually cultivate them into leading talents in the field of technological innovation, guiding the trend of future technological development.
