The Department of Electronic Science at Guizhou University originated from the specialization of semiconductor and radio in the Physics Department of Guizhou University in 1960. After 60 years of hard work, it has formed the only complete talent training system for undergraduate, master's, and postdoctoral students in the field of electronic science and technology in Guizhou Province. Under the arduous efforts of the older generation of experts, professors, and staff represented by professors such as Fu Xinghua and Liu Qiao, the discipline of Electronic Science and Technology has become a well-known and irreplaceable discipline group in Guizhou Province both domestically and internationally. It has trained thousands of graduates, who have become the three major systems under the National Defense Science and Technology Commission of the 083, 011, and 061 systems, as well as important technical backbone forces in the electronic industry both domestically and internationally. They have successively become the business backbone and responsible persons of industrial, transportation, energy, telecommunications, finance, broadcasting and television, news, teaching, scientific research and other industry departments both inside and outside the province, making important contributions to China's modernization development.
The Electronic Science and Technology discipline of the Department of Electronic Science has a good teaching and research platform. There is currently one doctoral program and master's program in the first level discipline of Electronic Science and Technology, one postdoctoral mobile station in Electronic Science and Technology (four directions of physical electronics, circuits and systems, microelectronics and solid-state electronics, electromagnetic field and microwave technology), one master's degree authorization point in the field of electronic information (two directions of integrated circuit engineering and new generation electronic information technology), one Guizhou Province characteristic key discipline (electronic science and technology), one Guizhou Province key discipline (microelectronics and solid-state electronics), one national characteristic specialty (electronic science and technology), and two national first-class undergraduate construction specialties (electronic science and technology, electronic information science and technology, and electronic information science and technology, respectively). We have established a collaborative teaching platform between Guizhou University and Mingdao Technology Company (Joint Laboratory of Electronic Systems and Integrated Circuit Design), Guizhou University ARM (Innovation and Talent Training Base), Guizhou University Microchip (Joint Laboratory of Microcontrollers/Digital Signal Processors), and Guizhou University Guizhou Aerospace Administration (Joint Laboratory of Semiconductor Power Devices and Microwave Devices). There is currently over 13000 square meters of teaching and research facilities, with software and hardware equipment worth over 100 million yuan. We have a joint system of molecular beam epitaxy and scanning tunneling electron microscopy, laser pulse deposition system, lithography machine, spray glue machine, etching machine, PECVD coating machine, thinning machine, polishing machine, scoring equipment and other large-scale material and device preparation equipment, as well as large-scale analysis and testing equipment such as field emission scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, confocal Raman spectrometer, material properties testing system (PPMS), high and low temperature dark current testing system, step meter, semiconductor parameter analyzer, etc. We have mainstream design and simulation EDA software such as Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor, and Huada Jiutian, as well as advanced IP libraries, as well as software and hardware platforms such as Flotherm thermal design software, COMSOL multi physics field analysis software, ARM embedded verification development platform, and SILVACO process simulation.
The Department of Electronic Science currently has 34 teachers, bringing together 31 doctoral students from universities such as Oxford University, Ghent University, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Hunan University, including 14 professors (including 4 special professors) and 15 associate professors. We have 3 provincial-level innovative talent teams, 3 provincial management experts, 1 education director of the Ministry of Education, 2 outstanding young scientific and technological talents in the province, 2 high-level innovative talents (at a hundred levels) in the province, 1 outstanding teacher in Baosteel, 4 academic leaders in disciplines at Guizhou University, and 2 middle-aged and young academic backbones at Guizhou University. Flexible introduction of 4 academicians and 1 national level expert. There are 16 doctoral supervisors (including 4 off campus) and 34 master's supervisors (including 6 off campus), forming multiple research teams led by doctoral supervisors and professors. The main research directions include integrated circuit design, superconducting materials and their applications, circuits and systems, new environmental semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices, material simulation and calculation, low dimensional semiconductor materials, surface physics, and oxide functional film materials.
In the past five years, we have achieved fruitful results, undertaken more than 60 national and provincial-level major research projects, with a research funding of 120 million yuan. We have published 420 academic papers indexed by SCI and more than 70 academic papers indexed by EI, received more than 10 provincial-level awards, and obtained 60 national invention patents and 32 utility model patents. Hosted and co hosted 10 academic conferences, and participated in 38 academic conferences.
